Biographies

Sandra Carlson, RN, MS.Ed., LCPC

Sandra Carlson opened the Sandra Carlson and Associates Counseling Services in 2000. Her dream was the desire to bring together mental health professionals to meet the needs of families in Bolingbrook along with its surrounding communities.

Sandy brings to her counseling a background in health care as a registered nurse. With an understanding of the mind/body connection, Sandy brings to her counseling a unique perspective. She believes that just as we are created to heal physically, we are also created to heal emotionally, spiritually and sexually. Sandy also believes that we are created to be able to heal relationships, such as marital or parent/child.

Sandy received her Master’s degree in counseling from Northern Illinois University (NIU). She is married and has three grown sons. She is currently a doctoral candidate at NIU, with specialties in the areas of couple counseling, sexuality, trauma, and spirituality. Sandy also teaches at NIU as adjunct faculty.
